육군사관학교출신으로한국중공업(현두산중공업)사장,한국전력공사사장,한덕생명(주)회장,대한육상경기연맹회장,국제육상연맹(IAAF)집행이사,2011년대구세계육상선수권대회명예조직위원장등을역임하였다.저서로30여만부가판매된『어느할아버지의평범한이야기』(1989)를비롯,『어느할아버지의평범한정치론』(1993),『어느할아버지의평범한문명이야기』(1995),『지도자』(1996),『남북전쟁』(2002),『육상경기,그영웅들의이야기』(2010),『에너토피아』(2014),『WakeUpKorea!어느할아버지의평범한이야기2』(2021)등10여권이있다.현재사단법인한미친선군민협의회회장으로활동하고있다.
AgraduateofKoreaMilitaryAcademyin1958,Parkpursuedacareerasasoldier,businessexecutive,sportsadministrator,andauthor.Afterretirementfromthearmyin1973,heservedastheCEOofKoreaHeavyIndustriesandtheCEOofthestate-ownedKoreaElectricalPowerCorporation(KEPCO).DuringhistenureatKEPCO,ParksuperintendedtherapidgrowthofKorea'snuclearpowergenerationtechnology,earninghimpraiseuntilheretiredfromthecompanyin1987.
In1985,ParkbecamethePresidentoftheKoreaAssociationofAthleticsFederationsandoversawtwoachievementsthatKoreanathleticshadthoughtimpossible:winningtwoOlympicmedals-goldandsilver-inthemen'smarathon.Parkalsoservedasoneofthelongest-runningcouncilmembersoftheInternationalAssociationofAthleticsFederations(IAAF)from1991to2015.HeplayedacrucialroleinhostingtheWorldChampionshipsinDaegu,Korea,in2011.
Parkhasalsoseensuccessasabestsellingauthorofbooks,includingPlainStoriesbyaGrandpa,whichsoldover300,000copies.Hehaspublishedmorethantenbooksspanningvarioustopics,fromsportstopolitics.HecurrentlyservesasthePresidentoftheKoreaCorporateMembersoftheAUSA(AssociationoftheUnitedStatesArmy)andChairmanoftheKoreaAthleticsFoundation.
