『한약독성학Ⅰ』에서는독성학의기본원리에대한소개와개별한약재의약리와독성에대해논하였고『한약독성학Ⅱ』에서는육미지황환(탕),보중익기탕,십전대보탕,귀비탕등을포함한20여종의탕제에대한약리와독성에대해논하였다.따라서한약독성학의Ⅰ과Ⅱ는독성학의기본원리를바탕으로개별한약재및탕제에대한독성과약리에대해고찰한내용이라할수있다.이번『한약독성학Ⅲ』에서는개별한약재및일부한약재에대한독성및약리에대한소개가있지만3권의한약독성학시리즈중에서꽃이라고할수있는한약의안전성등급화를위한근거중심독성평가(evidencebasedtoxicityevaluation)에대한내용까지를담았다.그와함께한의학에대한시스템생물학(systemsbiology)응용을위한고찰을담아냈다.오늘날의시스템생물학은한의학의근거중심접근(evidencebasedapproach)을위해반드시이해할필요성이있는중요한분야이다.
