미국 인디애나의 퍼듀대학교 Purdue university에서 아동발달가족학으로 석사를 졸업하고 2004년 박사 학위를 받았다. 2004년부터 린치버그, 버지니아에 있는 기독교학교인 리버티대학교의 리버티 상담대학원에서 미국 학생들을 가르쳐 오고 있다. 또한 2005년부터는 리버티 신학대학원에서 한국인 신학생들을 위한 영어 코스를 가르쳐 오고 있다. 유학생활을 거쳐 올해로 미국생활 17년째를 맞고 있는 저자는 상명대 재학시절부터 각종 통역활동을 하고 영자신문사 기자로 활약하면서 남다른 영어감각을 보였으며 영어교습 경력만도 자그마치 21년이다. 저서로는 'Mainstream English', 'Language school 1,2'가 있고'Language school 3'도 곧 출간 예정이다. '제대로 된 영어학습법의 전도사'로 활발하게 활동하고 있는 저자는, 많은 사람들이 쉽고 효율적으로 영어를 공부할 수 있도록 공부법을 전달하기 위해 이 책을 썼다.
