구자운
저자구자운(具滋雲,1926∼1972,부산출생)은≪현대문학≫에서정주의추천으로1955년시<균열>을비롯해1956년<청자수병>,1957년<매>를발표하며등단했다.1949년동양외국어전문학교노어과를수료했으며소아마비로평생을불구의몸과싸우며시작에전념했다.생전에한국의바이런이라는칭송을들었으며,1959년제4회≪현대문학≫신인상을수상하고박성룡,박재삼,박희진,성찬경등과‘60년대사화집’동인으로활동했다.1955년대한광업회근무,1962년국제신보상임논설위원,1966년월간스포츠의편집장등을역임했고,그뒤로번역과출판물의편집등으로생계를이어갔다.1971년부터한국현대시인협회이사를지낸바가있다.저서로는프린트판시집≪처녀승천(處女昇天)≫과시집≪청자수병≫(삼애사,1969)이있고,시인민영이편집한시전집≪벌거숭이바다≫(창작과비평사,1976)가사후에출간되었다.

▣책소개모더니즘이팽배했던1950년대문단에서한국전통시의서정성을회복하려애썼다.소아마비도,가난도시인의영혼을꺾지는못했다.그가‘청자수병’에서찾아낸동양적완결성은모성을품은생명의근원‘바다’가되고,마침내한마리‘학’이되어절대미의세계로날아간다.▣출판사책소개지식을만드는지식‘초판본한국시문학선집’은점점사라져가는원본을재출간하겠다는기획의도에따라한국문학평론가협회에서작가100명을엄선하고각각의작가에대해권위를인정받은평론가들을엮은이로추천했다.엮은이는직접작품을선정하고원전을찾아냈으며해설과주석을덧붙였다.각작품들은초판본을수정없이그대로타이핑해서실었다.초판본을구하지못한작품은원전에가장근접한것을사용했다.저본에실린표기를그대로살렸고,오기가분명한경우만바로잡았다.단,띄어쓰기는읽기편하게현대의표기법에맞춰고쳤다.구자운은1950년대와1960년대우리시문학사에서짚고넘어가지않을수없는주요한시인이다.서정주의추천으로≪현대문학≫1955년3월호에시<균열(龜裂)>을비롯해1956년5월호에<청자수병(靑磁水甁)>,1957년6월호에<매(梅)>를발표하며등단했다.추천이완료된시점이31세였으니46세로작고할때까지단15년동안시작활동과문필활동을한셈이다.≪현대문학≫에추천이완료되었을당시소감으로밝힌“우리는순수서정에발디딤을하여민족언어-시조로부터이어온우리의현대시를이룩해야한다”는말도그러하거니와,구자운의초기시세계는1950년대문단의급박한상황과일정한거리를두고있다.1950년대전후문단안팎의사정이나실존주의문학론의대두,뉴크리티시즘의유입과후반기동인들을중심으로한모더니즘문학론이팽배하게지배했던이시기는초기남한문단의형성과정을잘보여준다.그러나구자운의경우,1950년대한국시가처한역사적질곡과한국시의무너진서정성을회복해야한다는사명과소임이강했던것으로보인다.그는동양적인사상적틀과그윽한시적정제미를통해한국전통시의기상이단절된참혹함을복구하려고애썼다.구자운은초기문단의형성과정에서미학적완결성을도자기,꽃등자연과전통적즉물들에서찾아한국현대시의서정성을회복하기위해애썼으며,4·19이후당대지식인으로서혹은한세대의시인으로서세대론적사명을다하려고평생을바쳤다.‘바다’의상징이나여성·모성적시원에대한호출로혼동만난무한현실속에서근원적절대미와삶의질서를찾으려고했다.그리고말기에는궁핍한생활을하면서도자신의시와삶이나아가야할절대미의세계를학을통해구체화하려고애쓰기도했다.그러므로구자운의시세계는‘고기(古器)’-‘바다’-‘모성’-‘학’을이동경로로취하고있으며,시인은늘분명히의식하고있는완결된세계를지향해왔고,그의시세계는그런이상향에대한낭만성이라고요약할수있을것이다.
