이 책은 구약성경의 신학을 히브리어 원어의 의미망 속에서 탐구한다. 구약의 하나님은 ḥesed (인애·언약적 사랑)와 raḥamîm (긍휼과 자비)의 하나님으로 증언되며, 이 사랑은 감정에 머물지 않고 ʿāhab (사랑하다)와 ʿābad / ʿeḇed, (섬기다 / 종)라는 관계적 실천으로 구체화된다. 이러한 관계 윤리는 mišpāṭ (정의·공의·판결)와 ṣĕdāqâ (의·공의)를 통해 공동체적 질서와 사회적 책임으로 확장되며, 궁극적으로는 malkût ʾĕlōhîm (하나님의 나라)라는 신학적 지평 안에서 통합된다. 본서는 창조로부터 시작하여 율법, 예언, 지혜 전통을 거쳐, 구약신학이 증언하는 하나님의 통치와 그 윤리적·역사적 함의를 입체적으로 조명한다.
저자

이은우

저자이은우는장로회신학대학교에서신학사(B.Th.)를,장로회신학대학교신학대학원에서목회학석사(M.Div.)를취득하였다.신학대학원재학중에는영국에딘버러대학교(UniversityofEdinburgh)에서교환학생으로수학하였으며,이후같은대학에서박사학위(Ph.D.)를취득하였다.현재는장로회신학대학교구약학교수로재직하며,율법서,신명기역사서,예언서,칠십인역,구약신학,구약개론,구약석의방법론등을강의하고있다.주요저서로는CrossingtheJordan:DiachronyversusSynchronyintheBookofJoshua(LHBOTS[JSOTS]578;London/NewYork:T&TClark,2013)를비롯하여다수가있으며,율법서,신명기역사서,본문비평분야의논문을국내외학술지에다수게재하였다.그의연구는수사비평,서사비평,수용사,구조주의비평등공시적방법론과본문비평,전승사비평,편집비평등통시적방법론을아우르며,이러한방법론의통합을통해통전적인성경해석을지향한다.그는현재SOTS(SocietyforOldTestamentStudy)와SBL(SocietyofBiblicalLiterature)과한국기독교학회의회원으로활동하고있으며,한국구약학회부회장으로섬기고있다.
