21세기적 변화의 사고로 벤처기업의 육성과 소상공인 창업이 제언되고 있다. 그래서 21세기의 주역을 꿈꾸는 젊은이들에게 취업의 부담을 최소화시킬 수 있는 방안으로 미래의 설계를 위해 창업에 필요한 기본적인 지식과 정보를 제공하는데 목적을 두고 본서를 쓴다.
창업에 필요한 실제적인 다양한 경영지식을 제공하여 미래를 준비하는 자세를 갖게 하기 위해 경영학적 사고와 원리, 기법 등 현장의 실무적인 자료를 토대로 그 내용을 정리하였다. 기업가가 된다는 것은 경영에 관한 지식 및 자신이 갖고 있는 강점과 가치관, 그리고 일을 최선으로 수행할 수 있는 방법을 알아내야만 한다.
자신과 기업의 핵심역량을 알고, 잘 정돈된 사고방식으로, 모든 조건을 구비한 혁신적인 아이디어, 올바른 기업가 정신을 갖춘 21세기 지식기반 사회에서의 승자 가 되어야 한다. 올바른 의미의 기업가 정신은 주인의식과 함께 불확실한 미래에 대한 비전과 확신, 리스크(risk)를 두려워하지 않으며 도전하는 정신을 의미한다. 나 아가 이러한 정신이 시장경제에서 부를 축적하는데 창조적으로 기여하게 될 때 자 본주의는 더욱 발전하게 될 것이다.
대학교육의 목적이나 기능은 국가와 시대변천에 따라 변화되고 있지만, 특히 지금의 상황에서는 대학교육의 주된 기능 중의 하나가 전문직업인의 양성을 부차적 목적으로 하고 있음을 배제할 수 없는 상황이다. 그러므로 대학에서의 교육은 발전 하는 사회의 요구와 개인의 요구에 충족할 수 있는 방향으로 직업선택과 준비에 만 전을 기하는 쪽으로 진행되어야 할 것이다. 이것이 앞으로의 우리나라 대학교육에 서 중점적으로 취급되어야 할 주요한 과제라 생각한다.

교수경영정보학박사
영남대학교경영학부에서경영정보시스템(MIS)을세부전공으로하여학문연구를시작하였다.MIS와Database를기초학문으로DataWarehousing,Datamining,On-lineanalyticalprocess-ing(OLAP),그리고BusinessIntelligence등데이터분석관련연구에전념하여「Astudyonthedatawarehousingcharacteristicfactorsaffectingend-users’satisfaction」로박사학위를받았다.현재,동서대학교에서경영학원론,경제학원론,e-비즈니스,생산운영관리,데이터베이스,경영과학,창업경영론,경영정보시스템,경영통계학,인공지능정보시스템,그리고ERP시스템등주요과목을맡아수업하면서연구에관심을두고있다.
기업의경영기술연구소장과경영자문위원으로활동하면서현장실무경험도있다.
2014년도의료분야도서병원정보시스템(도서출판고려의학)을시작으로2017년도에는개정판을출간하였다.2020년가을에는전공학생들을위한생산운영관리론(으뜸출판사)을출간하였으며현재개정증보판준비중에있다.창업에관심이많은재학생들과졸업을눈앞에두고있는학생들로부터자주받는질문이창업에관한것이었다.따라서교육경험과실무경험을토대로본서를쓰게되었다.
