저자

노천명

1912년황해도장연군순택면비석포리에서태어나1957년재생불능성빈혈(백혈병)로세상을떠난시인이자수필가이다.진명여고보와이화여전영문과(8회)를졸업한후조선중앙일보,조선일보사‘여성’편집부,매일신보학예부기자를거쳐,해방이되자서울신문,부녀신문등에서총13년간근무했고한국전쟁이후에는중앙방송국에서근무했다.생전에시집『산호림』『창변』『별을쳐다보며』를출간했고,사후에나온유고시집『사슴의노래』가있다.수필집『산딸기』『나의생활백서』『여성서간문독본』등생전에3권을출간했다.노천명은생애두번이루지못한사랑으로상처입고,일제강점기와한국전쟁을겪어내면서역사의소용돌이에휘둘려,씻을수없는행적으로고고한‘사슴’시인의이미지를지키지못했다.

지식을만드는지식‘한국근현대시초판본100종’은점점사라져가는원본을재출간하겠다는기획의도에따라한국문학평론가협회에서작가100명을엄선하고각각의작가에대해권위를인정받은평론가들을엮은이로추천했다.엮은이는직접작품을선정하고원전을찾아냈으며해설과주석을덧붙였다.
각작품들은초판본을수정없이그대로타이핑해서실었다.초판본을구하지못한작품은원전에가장근접한것을사용했다.저본에실린표기를그대로살렸고,오기가분명한경우만바로잡았다.단,띄어쓰기는읽기편하게현대의표기법에맞춰고쳤다.


노천명은등단이후세상을떠날때까지낭만주의적시의식을토대로내면의식의탐구와새로운언어감각의발견에노력을아끼지않았던시인이다.1930년대현대시학의정립기에노천명은내면성의표출이라는현대시의본질에충실하면서,이를정서와대상간의균형을통해새로운언어와감각으로전환하는섬세한능력을보여주었다.특히여성시인으로서의노천명은토속적일상에대해지속적으로관심을가질수있었으며여성만이경험할수있는인정과정서들을다루고있다.또한노천명은한국전쟁이후초기시에서획득했던내면탐구와언어적감각을토대로감옥수감이라는개인적비극을극복하고,삶의의지를이웃공동체로까지확장하려는움직임을보였다.세상을뜰때까지매우활력적인창작및출판활동을보였던노천명은유고시집이되어버린≪사슴의노래≫를통해장미의열정과사슴의고독그리고두견의울음을간직한시의본령을꿈꾸었다.
