충남예산출생으로충남대학교화공과(학사,석사)졸업후독일도르트문트대학교에서화공학박사취득했다.독일마르틴부처신학교(B.A)를마치고목사안수를받았다.대학1학년때예수님을만나기쁨에넘쳐대학선교위해일하기시작해독일도르트문트대학교와보쿰대학교에서도현지인대학생들위한일대일성경선생으로선교사로그리고주일설교자로일하였다.대한예수교장로회(개혁)유럽노회초대노회장을역임했다.

Iwasbornin1949inYesan,SouthKorea.IstudiedchemicalengineeringatChungnamNationalUniversity(MasterofEngineering).IthenearnedmydoctorateinchemicalengineeringfromtheUniversityofDortmundinGermany(DoctorofNaturalSciences).IalsostudiedtheologyattheMartinBucerSeminary(Bachelor)andwasordainedasapastor.

DuringmyfirstyearofstudiesinKorea,IencounteredJesusChrist.Filledwithjoyatsalvation,Ibegantodedicatemyselftostudentministry.Since1978,IhavebeenworkinginstudentministryinDortmundand,since1987,inBochum,whereIhaveledSundayservices.

IwasalsothefirstchairmanoftheEuropeanPresbyteryoftheKoreanPresbyterianChurch(Reformed).

저자는가난한가정에서태어나초등학교때오른쪽환도뼈를다쳐초등학교밖에못다니고생활전선에뛰어들어야할형편이었다.저자는이를극복하고자열심히공부하였고장학금으로대학까지다니게된다.그리고대학1학년때하나님을믿고하나님의영원한사랑을깨달아행복하고승리하는인생을살기시작한다.그래서그는동료학생들에게행복하고승리하는삶을살도록신앙생활을권면한다.대학원을마친저자는독일에서간호보조사로근무하며선교사역하는백길례선교사와결혼하고유학생선교사로파송받아간다.독일에서사랑이넘치는가정생활을하며다른한국유학생선교사들과함께독일학생들을성경공부와주일설교로도와하나님사랑의복음을믿도록돕는다.박사학위를받은후한국에서의교수직제안을거절하고독일학생들에게사랑의메시지를계속전한다.정년이되자독일인후계자에게교회담임을물려준다.
따라서이책은어떠한어려운난관에부닥치더라도그난관을극복하고사랑과축복이넘치는삶을살며이사랑과축복을누리는길을다른사람들에게알려주는사람이되도록격려하고있다.

Theauthorwasbornintopovertyandsufferedafemoralheadinjuryinelementaryschool,whichledtodifficultcircumstances.Toovercomethese,hestudieddiligentlyandreceivedscholarshipsfrommiddleschoolthroughuniversity.Inhisfirstyearofuniversity,hecametofaithinJesusChristthroughBiblestudyandrecognizedHisboundlesslove.Thismarkedthebeginningofahappyandfulfillinglife.Heencouragedhisfellowstudentstolivealifeoffaithandjoy.Aftergraduatingfromuniversity,hemarriedmissionaryGil-LyeBaek,anursingassistantandmissionaryinGermany,andwassentthereasastudentmissionary.InGermany,heledalovingfamilylifeand,togetherwithotherKoreanmissionaries,helpedGermanstudentsbelieveinthegospelofGod'slovethroughBiblestudiesandSundaysermons.Afterearninghisdoctorate,hedeclinedaprofessorshipofferinKoreaandcontinuedtosharehismessageoflovewithGermanstudents.Inretirement,hepassedtheleadershipofhischurchtoaGermansuccessor.Thisbookthereforeencourageseveryonewhofacesdifficultlifecircumstancestoovercomethem,toleadalifefullofloveandblessings,andtosharethepathtothisloveandblessingswithothers.
