In this volume, the poet traces the world of lingering light and shifting forms as he passes through the absence of his beloved mother, remembering from the lowest and most enduring place of the heart. Memories bound to the body-like cucumber soap, pomegranates, and branches-reappear as sensory scenes where sorrow and recovery seep into one another.
