작가는건설엔지니어이다.전라남도장흥에서출생하였다.한양대학교건축공학과를졸업하고,동대학원에서건설관리학으로석사학위를취득하였다.현대건설에입사하여국내외건설업무를수행하였다.30여년간건설업무를수행한이후데이터센터를구축하는다우기술에입사하였다.현재데이터센터구축사업을총괄하는사업단장으로재직중이다.10여년간현장소장및사업단장으로근무하면서팀원들을어떻게이끌것인가에대해항상고민하였다.직장생활30년차를지나면서본인의생각과철학을책으로정리하고기록을남기고자했다.같이근무하는외국인동료들을위해영문판에세이를집필하였다.
