시편은 시요 노래인데, 왜 이리 낭독해도 맛이 나지 않는가? Psalms are poetry and songs, but why doesn't it taste to read out?
개역판 성경을 읽다가 바뀐 개역 개정판 성경이 너무 생소하게 느껴지지는 않았나요? Didn't you feel so unfamiliar with the revised version of the Bible that changed when you first read it?
번역은 제 2의 창작임을 알기에, 현재 영어권 국가에서 많이 본다는 NIV 성경으로 시편을 읽어도 낭독의 맛을 크게 느낄 수 없었습니다. Knowing that translation is a second creation, I read the Psalms with the NIV Bible, which is widely seen in English-speaking countries, but could not feel the taste of reading Psalms.
그런데 킹제임스 성경 원문으로 읽은 시편은 달랐습니다. But the Psalms I read in the text of the King James Version(KJV) Bible were different.
현존하는 성경 중에 가장 정확하게 번역되었다는 킹제임스 성경. KJV Bible, the most accurate translation of the Bible in existence.
히브리어로 쓰인 구약과 헬라어로 쓰인 신약을 영국 왕 제임스가 당대 최고의 학자들을 모아 영어로 번역해서 1,611년에 완역된 성경. The Old Testament, written in Hebrew and the New Testament in Hella, was translated into English by King James, the best scholars of the time, in 1611.
그런데 시판 중인 킹제임스 성경 영한본의 한글 번역이 미흡한 곳들이 눈에 띄기 시작했습니다. 특히 시편의 한글 번역은 아쉬웠습니다. However, the Korean translation of the KJV Bible on the market was insufficient. Especially, the Korean translation of the Psalm. 그래서 단지 나의 낭독을 위해서 시편을 번역하기 시작했습니다.
So I started translating the psalms just for my reading out.
약 2년에 걸친 낭독과 보완을 거쳐, 매일 낭독용으로 시편을 권합니다. After about 2 years of work, I have this Psalms for daily reading.
매일 하나님을 바라며 다윗의 심정으로 낭독하기를.
