Yu’s attempt to write the first general history of the Xia dynasty, the first of its kind in Korean, properly deserves academic acclaim. Although its author was too young to produce a fully advanced academic writing, Yu’s book, first written almost twenty years ago in an old-fashioned writing style, boasts of its own ingenious, detailed understanding and concise, clear arguments of the Xia dynasty.
