SheistheauthorofTreadingonthePedalsofDreams(1998),TothePigs(2005,2014),LifethathasyettoArrive(2009),ThingsAlreadyHot(2013)andWhatwillnotcomeagain(2019)whichincludesthepoem“Monster”andother#Metoopoems.
ShereceivedtheIsuLiteraryAwardforTothePigsin2006andherfifthvolumeofpoems,ThingsAlreadyHotwasselectedasBookCultureFoundation'sLiteraryBookofExcellencein2013.
In2005ChoiwroteherfirstnovelScarsandPatternstotransformasanovelist.SheistheauthorofBronzeGardenandacollectionofessaysMelancholyoftheEra.Choihasalsotranslated“FrancisBaconinConversationwithMichelArchimbaud”(1998)and“D’Aulaires’BookofGreekMyths”(1999)intoKorean.

In2017,theeditorofamagazinerequestedChoiYoung-Mitowritepoemsonfeminismandgenderstruggle.Byacceptingthisrequest,shewrotethepoem"Monster"(괴물)thatexposedthesexualharassmentandabusebytheoldpoetEn.Whenherpoem"Monster"released,thepublicimmediatelynoticedthat'En'isKo(themostreveredKoreanpoet),whichignitedthe#MeToomovement.

ChoiYoung-Mi'srevelationofKo'smolestationhasplayedamajorroleinexposingthesexualharassmentsandassaultsinfesteddeepinsidetheKoreansociety,notonlyintheculturalandartscommunity,andhercontributionswillhelperadicateanyfurtheroffenders.Forthiscontribution,theMetropolitanCityofSeoulhasdecidedtopresentChoiYoung-MiwiththegrandprizeofSexEqualityAward2018.
